PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of offtrack and the reduction of a transfer rate in a hard disk drive caused by external rotational disturbances in a portable device incorporating the hard disk drive. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an angular velocity sensor 25 to detect the angular velocity of a rotational direction around one axis orthogonal to the rotational center of an arm which is caused by external disturbances, and the detection result of the angular velocity sensor is sent to a CPU 20. Based on the result, the CPU 20 calculates a servo control amount for canceling the influence of gyroscopic moment on the very small deformation of a hard disk drive caused by external rotational disturbances as external rotational disturbance information, and sends this to the hard disk drive. The hard disk drive adds the external rotational disturbance information as a correction value for the servo control amount calculated based on a PES to a servo loop, and supplies the corrected servo control amount to the drive circuit of a voice coil motor to position a head.
