PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet printer which can improve a glossiness of an image, and to provide an image recording method. SOLUTION: The ink-jet printer 100 is formed of an image forming section 2, a fixing section 7, and a drying section 6 which are accommodated in a case 1. The image forming section 2 ejects pigment ink toward a recording medium which has a surface layer containing therein thermoplastic fine particles, and forms an image. The fixing section 7 heats and pressurizes the recording medium P on which the image is formed by the image forming section, and fixes the image. The drying section 6 dries the ink forming the image before fixing the image on the recording medium by the fixing section. The ink-jet printer 100 is provided with a temperature sensor 12 for detecting the temperature in the case, a humidity sensor 13 for detecting the humidity in the case, and a drying control section 22l for controlling operation of the drying section, based on a detected temperature by the temperature sensor and a detected humidity by the humidity sensor.
