PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral-type membrane element and its manufacturing method, in which sealing performance of a sealing structure is improved, while taking advantage in using a hot-melt material, and the manufacturing process can be simplified. SOLUTION: A laminate S1 is spirally wound around a perforated hollow pipe 5. In the laminate S1, a supply-side flow-path material 2 is arranged on the supply side of the membrane 1, and a permeation-side flow-path material 4 is arranged on the permeation side thereof. The spiral member element has a sealing structure so as not to allow the supply-side flow-path to communicate directly with the permeation-side flow-path. In the sealing structure A1 in the neighborhood of both-side ends of the membrane 1, the membrane 1 is hot-melt adhered with the hot-melt material filled communicatively inside and outside in the space of the permeation-side flow-path material 4.
