PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer latex which has a good mechanical stability as a latex, gives a good adhesion between a rubber and fibers (initial adhesion and heat-resistant adhesion), and gives a high shredding strength (cord tenacity) to a treated cord after dipping treatment thereof. SOLUTION: This copolymer latex for an adhesive between the rubber and the fibers is a copolymer latex obtained by emulsion polymerization of total 100 pts.wt. monomers consisting of 5-25 wt.% vinyl pyridine, 30-80 wt.% aliphatic conjugated diene monomer and 10-65 wt.% other monomers copolymerizable with them, wherein a rosin soap and a fatty acid soap are contained each by 0.5-7 pts.wt. in terms of solid content based on 100 pts.wt. of the copolymer latex (in terms of solid content), and a weight average particle diameter of the copolymer latex is 70-200nm and Moony viscosity (ML1+4 100°C) is 35-60.
