PURPOSE: A device for controlling a camera angle of a portable terminal and a method therefor are provided to control a photographing angle of a camera according to a state of a display, thereby automatically controlling the photographing angle of the camera. CONSTITUTION: The first sensor(151) is installed in a specific position of the second housing(20). The second sensor(153) is installed in a position of the first housing(10) when the second housing(20) is closed on the first housing(10), and generates an on/off signal of the second housing(20) according to a detected state of the first sensor(151). When a signal for showing an opening of the second housing(20) is generated from the second sensor(153), a motor driver generates a motor driving signal for controlling at a preset photographing angle of a camera lens(50). A motor rotates the camera lens(50) by the motor driving signal.
