PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for calculating the intake pipe internal pressure and intake pipe internal temperature with good accuracy in an internal combustion engine in which gas is introduced into an intake pipe part through a throttle means. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine includes a gas circulation means 23' which is a gas circulation means 23' connected to an intake pipe part 13' of the internal combustion engine, and which is adapted to introduce gas through a first throttle means 22 provided on the upstream end part of the gas circulation means 23' and introduce gas into the intake pipe part 13' through a second throttle means 24 provided on the downstream end part of the gas circulation means 23'. In a device for calculating at least either the pressure or the temperature in the intake pipe part 13' according to the conservation law of energy and the conservation law of mass, the value of volume used in the conservation law of energy and the conservation law of mass is varied with the magnitude of a change rate of the pressure in the intake pipe part 13'.
