PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering phosphorus from organic wastewater which increases the phosphorus content of a recovered phosphorus component while reducing the addition amount of a flocculant or a dephosphorizing agent. SOLUTION: The method for recovering phosphorus from organic wastewater includes a process for treating organic wastewater A by an anaerobic-aerobic activated sludge method to form primary sludge (x), a process for treating the primary sludge (x) under heating to elute the phosphorus component taken in the primary sludge (x) into a liquid phase to obtain secondary sludge (d), a process for filtering the secondary sludge (d) to produce a filtrate (e) and a process for adding the flocculant B to the filtrate (e) to form the solid phosphorus component.
