In a device on a spinning preparation machine, especially a carding machine, cleaner or the like, having a machinery housing, the machine and/or fibber feed and fibber discharge devices are arranged in the interior of the machinery housing. In order that the fibber material located inside a housing can be inspected and checked in a simple manner from outside the housing, without the housing being removed, in the interior of the machinery housing there is at least one electronic camera (video camera) which is associated with the textile fibber material and/or a machine element for displaying an image of the surface of the textile fibber material and/or the machine element.
