PREPARATION METHOD FOR PIGMENT DISPERSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a pigment dispersion which contains fine colorant particles comprising a pigment whose surface is uniformly covered with a polymer shell with a desired thickness and which is used for preparing an inkjet ink giving an image excellent in transparency, glossiness, and scratch resistance.

SOLUTION: This method prepares the pigment dispersion which is used for the inkjet ink and in which the fine colorant particles prepared by covering the pigment with the polymer are dispersed. The fine colorant particles are prepared by causing the surface of the pigment to adsorb a compound having a hydrophilic part and a hydrophobic part to form a reaction field and then conducting polymerization to form the polymer.
