<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device having an operating portion which can be made compact in size and improve the layout flexibility of the operating portion adjusting pressure to a recorded element of a pressurizing roller, and a recording device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A rotation force transmitting means composed of a chain 309, drive sprockets 311, 312, and gears 305, 306, 307, 313, 314, 315, 316, 317, 318 is connected to a roller operating portion. A shaft body 303 is rotated by the rotating force transmitting means, and a pressing force on a carrying roller 301 of the pressurizing roller 405 is changed by a cam mechanism 315 provided on the shaft body 303.
