<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording liquid for water-based ink jet capable of obtaining high quality, high image concentration, high reliability for image, continuously and stably being discharged without causing clogging and excellent in storage stability and to provide an image recording method using the recording liquid. <P>SOLUTION: The recording liquid for water-based ink jet comprises a pigment and two or more kinds of resin fine particles each having a hydrophilic group. When the pigment is a self-disperse type pigment having the hydrophilic group, the hydrophilic group of the pigment is the same kind as the hydrophilic group of the resin fine particles and when the pigment is not a self-disperse type pigment, the recording liquid further comprises a dispersing agent for dispersing the pigment and the hydrophilic group of the dispersing agent is the same kind as the hydrophilic group of the resin fine particles. In the water-based ink jet recording liquid, cationic or anionic hydrophilic groups (excluding nonionic hydrophilic group) of the material (self-disperse type pigment and resin fine particles) used are the same kind. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
