PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of selectively and securely separating only iridium from an aqueous solution containing iridium and accompanying elements and refining it even if any platinum group element and the other accompanying elements are coexistent.
SOLUTION: The method of separating and refining iridium comprises: a reduction precipitating stage where, as a reducing agent, a metal with a standard single electrode potential (based on a standard hydrogen electrode) of 0 to 0.5 V is added to an aqueous solution containing iridium and accompanying elements, and contact reaction is caused to remove the resultant precipitates; and a crystallization refining stage where the obtained mother liquor is subjected to oxidation treatment, and thereafter, alkali salt is added thereto to separate iridium as crystalline precipitates.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
|
