PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-grade display plate for clocks which has a matt clear coating with the color of an underlying (colored coating) layer comprising a plated coating, a paint coating or the like formed on a surface of a substrate being exposed as it is, and has good visibility of characters, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The display plate for clocks of the present invention has a substrate and a clear resin coating layer containing particles of silica or the like laminated in this order, and has 60°gross value on a surface of the clear resin coating layer of 0.01 to 1.0. The plate may have a clear resin coating layer containing no particle between the coating layers. The manufacturing method of this display plate comprises at least the steps of preparing the substrate, forming a colored coating layer on the substrate by a means of wet or dry plating, and forming a particle-containing clear resin coating layer by painting or printing the surface of the coating layer with a clear resin paint or clear resin ink in which the particles are incorporated in a specified amount.
