PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a valve allowing a reduction in size and cost by using a vertically swinging gear as a speed reduction gear. SOLUTION: In this actuator for the valve, a drive gear meshing with the pinion gear of a motor and a rotor formed internally with the drive gear and in which its lower surface form a sloped cam face are pivotally supported on an output shaft irrespective of the rotation of the output shaft, A control gear having teeth formed in both upper and lower surfaces which is pressed by the cam face of the rotor and swung in the vertical direction is pivotally supported on the output shaft irrespective of the rotation of the output shaft, and a fixed gear having the number of teeth different from that of a control gear and in which the teeth meshing with teeth on the upper surface are formed in the lower surface thereof.
