PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label tube fitting apparatus using a vertical fitting turret which increases the label tube fitting speed without increasing the size of the vertical fitting turret by avoiding interference between preceding and succeeding label tubes or interference with an adjacent gripper. SOLUTION: A label tube L1 fed in an attitude parallel to the plane of rotation of a vertical fitting turret 10 from a label tube feeder 15 is held by a gripper 20, and once moved in a direction parallel to a rotary shaft 11 of the vertical fitting turret 10. A succeeding label tube W (which is immediately cut to form a label tube L2) to be fed by the label tube feeder 15 is not interfered with the label tube L1 or the gripper 20 to grip the label tube, and thus, the label tube fitting speed can be increased without increasing the size of the vertical fitting turret 10.
