PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent corrosion of the sliding surface in contact with the medium for a magnetoresistive effect magnetic head sliding in contact with the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: A rust preventive film 50 containing a thiazole and/or a thiazole derivative is formed on the sliding surface 20a in contact with the medium of a GMR head 20 detecting a magnetic signal while sliding in contact with a magnetic tape 3. Also, a top coat layer 64 and a back coat layer 65 consisting of the same material as the rust preventive film 50 formed on the slidable surface 20a in contact with the medium of the GMR head 20 are formed on a surface of the magnetic tape 3, then the rust preventive film is transferred to the slidable surface 20a in contact with the medium of the GMR head 20 to be slid in contact with the magnetic tape 3.
