PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical and reliable multiple flow passage type rotary joint which can be excellently installed even in a narrow space. SOLUTION: A first joint component 1 and a second joint component 2 are connected to each other in a relatively rotatable manner. Seal areas 5b, 5c, 5d and 5e to be demarcated by mechanical seals 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d which are arranged concentrically around the axis of the relative rotation are formed between opposing end face portions in the axial direction of the relative rotation of the joint components 1 and 2. Flow passages 3b and 3c respectively passing through the seal areas 5b, 5d and 5e are formed in the joint components 1 and 2.
