Production of a three-dimensional object comprises forming a powder material layer made from inorganic material, irradiating a predetermined part of the material layer with an optical beam to form a first sintered layer and connecting the sintered layer directly with a second sintered layer, repeating the above steps until several first and second sintered layers are formed and the sides of the sintered blocks obtained have a concave part, removing excess from the surface of the blocks, and repeating the last two steps to produce the three-dimensional object made from several sintered blocks.
