PURPOSE: A remote monitoring system by using a digital video recording is provided to manage a plurality of digital video recording devices totally at the center without restriction by time or space. CONSTITUTION: A photographing device(210) is comprised of one or more cameras. A sensor device(220) senses a change in the temperature or movement of a human body in a predetermined monitoring region. One or more digital video recording devices(230) receive the signals transmitted from the photographing device(210) and the sensor device(220) and then convert the signals into digital signals. A central processing server(240) processes the signals transmitted from the One or more digital video recording devices(230). When predetermined abnormal signals are received from the photographing device(210) and the sensor device(220), a notification device(250) notifies the abnormal signals to a user. A monitor(260) displays images of the respective regions under the control of the central processing server(240). A remote user terminal(270) can receive image data and event logs of the respective regions at a remote site through a predetermined network.
