<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display wherein contrast of display is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display wherein a reflection film is formed in a pixel region on the liquid crystal side surface on one substrate of respective substrates disposed opposite to each other via a liquid crystal and light from the other substrate side is made incident in the reflection film and then reflected by the reflection film to the other substrate side, formation of the reflection film is avoided in the vicinity of a projecting part formed in the pixel region.
