PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a height adjusting device for adjusting the interval between a first substrate and a second substrate by rotation of a bolt for adjustment, wherein an effective looseness preventing means is included which prevents occurrence of looseness when a bolt for adjustment receives vibrations and repeated load. SOLUTION: The bolt 4 for adjustment is passed through a through hole 1a provided on the first substrate 1. A screw part 4b formed at the tip of the bolt is screwed in the second substrate 3. A compression spring 5 is interposed between the first and second substrates. A plurality of engaging recesses 1b are provided on the first substrate 1 so as to be intermittently disposed in a circular shape. The through hole through which the bolt 4 is passed and an engaging wall 7b engaged with a head part 4a of the bolt passing through the through hole, are provided on one end. In the other end, a washer 7 in which an engaging protrusion 7c engaged with the engaging recess 1b is formed is interposed between the head part 4a of the bolt 4 and the first substrate 1.
