PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal vibration detection device for a railway rolling stock capable of easily loading a device body onto a vehicle body. SOLUTION: The abnormal vibration detection device 10 detects traveling speed of the railway rolling stock 1, detects vertical acceleration generated on a vehicle body 2 at an upper side than a spring gear 6 of a bogie 3 and extracts a component in the range of a predetermined frequency of the vertical acceleration when the railway rolling stock travels on road route. When an absolute value of the vertical acceleration in the range of the frequency exceeds limit vertical acceleration corresponding to the previously determined traveling speed, it is determined that the abnormal vibration is generated on the railway rolling stock 1. The abnormal vibration detection device 10 has an acceleration detection means; a filter means; a vehicle speed detection means; a determination means; or the like, and is mounted/arranged to an end part 2a of the vehicle body 2.
