PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily find optimum combination of a plurality of complicatedly related operation parameters to operate equipment always in an optimum state. SOLUTION: This automatic tuning device or automatic setup device for the parameter related to the operation of the equipment has: a parameter change means changing a value of the setup parameter; a storage means storing the setup parameter; a function setting means for setting an evaluation function of the value of the setup parameter; and a function processing means for executing an evaluation process for the value of the setup parameter by the evaluation function to find an optimum setup parameter.
