摘要 PURPOSE: A disc drive settling servo control method and system is provided to move a head to a target track stably and speedily irrespective of a seeking distance or direction when a track is sought. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a state estimator(72), a state feedback gain module(74) and a pulse generator(76), and an adder(78). The state estimator(72) estimates a head position, a head speed, a VCM(Virtual Channel Memory) current and a disturbance from a PES(Position Error Signal). The state feedback gain module(74) generates a control signal by multiplying the head position and speed data by gains. The pulse generator(76) generates pulse signals for offsetting an extreme point by using control input data. The adder(78) adds an output of the state feedback gain module, disturbance data offered by the state estimator(72) with the pulse signal from the pulse generator(76), and generates control input data for a VCM actuator.
