PURPOSE: A head drum assembly of a magnetic recorder/player is provided to temporarily couple a head drum with a main chassis by using a holder, thereby coupling the head drum with the main chassis through screws by automation assembly. CONSTITUTION: A head drum assembly includes a head drum(40) rotatively installed on a main chassis(30) for recording and playing information at a recording medium. Before assembling the head drum with the main chassis, a holder(50) is included to support the head drum in a state of hanging on the main chassis. The holder includes a circular body(51) combined to cover the outside of a coupling part(47), first elastic hooks(53) protruded toward an upper surface of the body and locked with a first locking holes(43a) formed at a bottom part of the head drum, and second elastic hooks(55) protruded to a lower surface of the body and locked with second locking holes(33) formed at the main chassis.
