PURPOSE: A display device is provided to control a display mode according to generation of electric power of a solar cell in order to display information even though low generation of electric power is produced, and to enable electric power independence in a low-capacity battery element. CONSTITUTION: An LCD panel has a matrix display(8), supplies power to a driving circuit(4) via a control circuit(7) from a power unit consisting of a battery element(2) and a battery detection circuit(3), and drives the matrix display(8). Display data is inputted via an input terminal(5) from an outer signal source, and is supplied to the driving circuit(4) through a data buffer(6) and the control circuit(7). The data buffer(6) stores one frame of display data.
