<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an inexpensive deflection exposure device used in a monochrome copying machine or the like usable in a four-drum color copying tandem machine as it is without requiring an expensive optical system for correcting inclination or correcting distortion such as curvature and precise adjustment, and further to provide a registration correction method necessary for each color matching. <P>SOLUTION: By installing three or more registration detection sensors, the positional deviation of respective color registrations is detected. The positional deviation of the respective colors is corrected by correcting the image bit map of a controller.
