<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric porcelain composition having a high Qf value and a moderate dielectric constant εr. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric porcelain composition essentially comprises magnesium titanate represented by the formula: Mg<SB>x</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>(wherein 1.00<x≤1.10). When the proportion of Mg is slightly larger than the stoichiometric composition of MgTiO<SB>3</SB>, a trace amount of Mg<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>4</SB>precipitates. In X-ray diffraction, the ratio [Mg<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>4</SB>(400)/MgTiO<SB>3</SB>(104)] of the Mg<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>4</SB>(400) peak intensity to the MgTiO3 (104) peak intensity is 0<[Mg<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>4</SB>(400)/MgTiO<SB>3</SB>(104)]≤0.13, and an average particle size d of crystal grains is 1.6μm<d≤25μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
