<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an area where a person's face is present in an image signal with high precision and rapidly. <P>SOLUTION: A CMOS constitutes a sensor, a sensor part, a memory part, an image processing part and the like are formed on a one-chip, and a light receiving area of the sensor is divided into a plurality of blocks. Then, a representative value of each block is calculated with an image processing function on the sensor, and preprocessing is performed which defines an area where read-out-face detection processing is performed based on a signal thereof, so that the face can be detected in a restricted area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
