Halogenated and sulfonated azodyes provide improved resistance to fading when washed by aqueous peroxy wash liquors. The dyes have the formula wherein X is fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine, R1 is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, hydrogen or R3, R3 substituents are the same or different and are selected from SO3H, NO2, a fiber-reactive group or any moiety linked to the benzene ring by a carbon atom, n is 0, 1, 2 or 3 and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3.
