PURPOSE: A shift control method in kick down from the 4th stage to the 3rd stage of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to improve riding comfort by minimizing judder generated at the end of kick down and improving the shifting performance. CONSTITUTION: A shift control method in kick down from the 4th stage to the 3rd stage of an automatic transmission for a vehicle comprises steps determining a learning condition if a shift control signal is detected and the shift control signal is a shift signal from the 4th stage to the 3rd stage(S100,S110); determining a judder occurrence section(S120); detecting a judder signal and determining judder(S130¯S150); and executing compensation control about a desired variable ratio and returning(S160¯S190).
