PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move prescribed devices of a dental treatment unit to each optimum position, corresponding to introduction of a patient, a treatment start, and a treatment end. SOLUTION: The dental treatment supporting system is composed of cameras 10, a display device 11 provided on the treatment unit or in its vicinity where it is a position visually recognizable from the patient, an image recognizing/controlling computer 20, a dental treatment unit operation controlling device 30, and a dental treatment management server 50 connected through an in-hospital LAN 40. More specifically, the system is provided with one or more cameras for obtaining image information on a treatment area, a recognition means 22a for recognizing in real time each device position in the dental treatment unit as well as existence and its positions of the patient and an operator depending on the image information from the cameras, and a position controlling means 22e for moving the prescribed devices in the dental treatment unit to the position optimal for supporting the treatment operation when the recognition means recognizes the patient and the operator.
