<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide efficient input work by efficiently and accurately carrying out the character recognition of characters handwritten by a doctor, and providing linking with data by using a recognized character as a keyword. <P>SOLUTION: The input of information linked with a pictograph (a path) and a keyword character is carried out by displaying an information input image plane linked with a changeover of per-classification word masters by using a pictograph (path) on a pictograph (path) palette, and carrying out character recognition by one part (all characters when handwriting information or the like is necessary) of the handwritten keyword characters.
