摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of delay and shock in down shift. SOLUTION: This control method for a lock-up clutch comprises a step (S108) for controlling hydraulic pressure for down shift when detecting an instruction for down shift (YES at S106) during execution of lock-up slip control (YES at S104) and a step (S110) for detecting an operation condition of an automatic transmission. This control method comprises a step (S114) for calculating the number of slip rotation when start conditions are satisfied (YES at S112), a step (S118) for setting the calculated number of slip rotation as target number of slip rotation when the number of slip rotation exceeds reference number of rotation (YES at S116), and a step (S126) for converging the target number of slip rotation up to fixed target number of rotation when convergence conditions of the target number of slip rotation are satisfied (YES at S124).
