A tube coupling arrangement comprises a body 4 which defines a tube receiving bore which is provided with a sealing element 6, a tube gripping means 10 and a release element 14 axially slidable within the bore. The release element 14 is engageable with the tube gripping means 10 so as to urge the tube gripping means 10 out of contact with the tube so that the tube 22 can be removed from the coupling. A retaining element 12 to hold the sealing element 6 and tube gripping means 10 in position is also included and is at least partially held within the bore. A stiffening element 8 is positioned so as to engage a portion of the tube gripping means 10 so as to render it stiffer and therefore increase the gripping force exerted by the tube gripping means 10 against the tube 22, when the tube 22 is inserted within the coupling. |
