PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a felt having a multiple-ply woven seam, capable of keeping a sufficient thickness by the compression in a pressing step and having no considerable difference between the compressibility of the joint part and that of the ground part. SOLUTION: The paper-machine felt having a seam has a ground cloth 1 produced by weaving a warp as a beaten yarn on a loom. The 1st/2nd warps 3/4 formed by the 1st beaten yarn are superposed in the thickness direction with the 3rd/4th warps 5/6 formed by the 2nd beaten yarn. A row of joint loops 7/8 are formed at both ends of the folded part the the 1st beaten yarn to form the 1st warp 3 passing the side closest to the paper-forming surface. The 2nd beaten yarn forming the 4th warp 6 passing the side closest to the paper-machine is folded without forming a joint loop. The 1st weft 10 is entangled with the 1st/3rd warps of the paper-making surface side among the 1st to 4th warps and the 2nd weft 11 is entangled with the 2nd/4th warps opposite to the paper-making surface.
