PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a good durable property and to prevent deterioration of the cleaning function. SOLUTION: In a cleaning roller 51, the peripheral surface is fixed to a device body 2 so that it is abutted to a photoreceptor 11 in the downstream side of the rotational direction of a primary transferring position 44 and it is also provided to be freely rotated around the rotational shaft which is orthogonal to the rotating direction 15. The residue developer on the photoreceptor 11 after finishing of the primary transferring is eliminated from the photoreceptor 11 by the cleaning roller 51 by being rotated in the direction which is opposite to that following the photoreceptor 11 at a specified circumferential speed. AC bias generating part is connected in between the cleaning roller 51 and the photoreceptor 11 and AC bias is applied between the cleaning roller 51 and the photoreceptor 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
