<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic solar cell having a higher photoelectric conversion efficiency than prior art, and more particularly, to provide an organic solar cell in which the photoelectric conversion efficiency is improved by contributing to photocurrent without deactivating the exciting state of an organic compound in the solar cell using an organic semiconductor. <P>SOLUTION: This organic solar cell includes an organic thin film layer uniformly containing an organic p-type semiconductor and an organic n-type semiconductor between two electrodes. In this solar cell, the organic thin film layer contains an organic dye in which two or more types of skeletons having different absorption regions are chemically bonded. A photocurrent rate can be largely increased by adding the organic dye in which two or more types of the skeletons having different absorption regions are chemically bonded to a uniformly mixed thin film of the organic n-type semiconductor and the organic p-type semiconductor as the photocurrent generating layer of the organic solar cell.
