PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain security protection by repetitively deleting an area in which unnecessary image data are stored depending on a security level. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus provided with: an image data input means 2; an image data storage means 12 for storing received image data; an image data processing means 6 having a plurality of processing modes for outputting the stored image data; and an image data delete means for deleting the image data stored in the storage means 12, includes number of deletion times control means 8, 14 for controlling the number of deletion times which can optionally set the number of deletion times in response to a requested security level by each processing mode and revise the setting number of deletion times on the way.
