The invention concerns a heat exchanger comprising a manifold (18) wherein are received the ends of at least a row of tubes (12, 14), as well as a manifold box (20) mounted on the manifold and including a longitudinal partition (40) in contact with the manifold to delimit a first compartment (50) and a second compartment (52) wherein emerge respectively part of the tubes (12, 14). The manifold (18) comprises at least one recessed zone (56) which is spaced apart from the free end (42) of the longitudinal partition (40) to form at least one communication passage (56) between the first compartment and the second compartment (52). The invention is in particular applicable to heat exchanger for motor vehicle.
