A foundry header comprises a peripheral wall (2) delimiting an internal cavity (3) and at least one external cavity (4), the internal cavity being filled with an insulating material (5) destined to imprison the heat and restore it during the cooling of the metal lodged in the external cavity, a cover (6) for closing the internal cavity and at least one orifice (7) arranged in the cover which can be blocked by a bolt (8) of air or an injector in order to assure the evacuation of the gas prevailing in the external cavity during the solidification of the metal. The peripheral wall includes two different thickness (4a, 2a) to allow the channeling of the sense of the heat exchange between the insulating material and the metal lodged in the external cavity.
