PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly determine dry-boil detection without being influenced by followability of a temperature detection means. SOLUTION: When the quantity of hot water contained in a pot 1 is reduced, the hot water is no more present in the vicinity of a heating coil 7. Temperature difference is produced between the detected temperatures by temperature sensors 12 and 13 disposed at different positions. When the temperature difference becomes not smaller than a specified value, a first dry-boil determination means 34 makes a determination as dry-boil detection. Since this is not based on the temperature rise of a temperature detection means as is in the case of a conventional system, a correct determination of the dry-boil is done without being influenced by the followability of the sensors 12 and 13.
