PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency switching apparatus with excellent performance such as a withstanding power, an insertion loss, an isolation and a switching time and to provide a switching method. SOLUTION: In the switching apparatus having two terminals or more among which a plurality of high frequency transmission lines are interconnected, a plurality of first transmission lines with an electric length of 1/4×λg (whereinλg is a wavelength of the line) are connected among the terminals, a second transmission line is connected to each of connecting points between the first transmission lines, the other end of the second transmission line is connected to ground, a third transmission line is furthermore connected to each connecting point, the other end is connected to ground via a PIN diode and a high frequency bypass capacitor sequentially, and a connecting point between the PIN diode and the high frequency bypass capacitor is used for a bias terminal. By applying a positive or negative bias to a bias terminal between two adjacent terminals, turning on / off the diode is performed and switching is performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
