Class 75(4) A lighting fitting especially for street lamps and intended to be suspended from a catenary cable on an arm, comprises in combination a pair of end plates 3, a pair of transparent or translucent panes 9 extending between the end plates, a roof member 7 also extending longitudinally between the end plates and extending laterally beyond the panes 9, means e.g. spring clips 15a, carried by the end plates 3 for supporting one or more fluorescent tubular lamps beneath the roof member, a door 12 forming a closure for the underside of the fitting and a reflector 18 of inverted channel shape mounted on the inside of the door. The control gear 17 for the lamps may be mounted on the door underneath the reflector 18. The end plates 3 carry brackets 4 for the suspension of the fitting. |
