PURPOSE: A device for gradually increasing the buckling load of a steering column is provided to supply the small buckling load of the steering column in a collision in the initial stage and relatively larger buckling load in the late stage by making a strap gradually generate stress to movements of a steering column body. CONSTITUTION: A device for gradually increasing the buckling load of a steering column is composed of a mounting bracket(5) for supporting a steering column body(3) to a vehicle body; a strap(1) of which one end is fixed to the steering column body, including a plurality of bent units(13,15,17); a plurality of pins(19,21) positioned between a plurality of bent units of the strap; and a pin bracket(7) for fixing the plurality of pins to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket has a pressurize-supporting part(9) for pressurizing both sides of the body and the bracket is combined with the steering column body and fixed to the vehicle body through combining holes(11) arranged to both upsides.
