PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which notifys a telephone set or facsimile equipment of a user of the arrival of received electronic mail without using personal computer nor modem port. SOLUTION: When the user perform a simple operation by using a telephone set or facsimile terminal, the telephone set or facsimile terminal is connected to a server. The server checks a received electronic mail box of the user to decide whether there is unread electronic mail and transmits the decision result to the telephone set or facsimile terminal. The telephone set or facsimile terminal displays the received decision result. The user views the decision result and judges whether or not the mail needs to be read out of the received electronic mail box by using a personal computer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
