摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle communication system which can reduce the quantity of communication data. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle communication system, a network having a plurality of ECUs connected by communication lines (L1 to L3) is provided for each function such as a power train system, a vehicle behavior system or a power supply system. General ECUs 11, 21, 31 in networks 10, 20, 30 for the respective functions determine an operational guideline of the ECU in their own network on the basis of information acquired from the other ECUs of the own network, and transmit the operational guideline to the corresponding ECU to cause the ECU to operate according to the guideline, thereby generally controlling the function of the own network. Each of general ECU, 11, 21, 31 selects part of the information acquired or generated by own ECU which is important for the other networks, and transmits it to a communication line L4.
