PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve wear resistance of a main fuel nozzle and a jet needle, and to stabilize fuel measuring performance over a long term, in a carburetor wherein a sliding valve capable of sliding across the intake air path is fitted on a carburetor main unit having the intake air path, and the main fuel nozzle for inserting the jet needle fitted to the sliding valve in a floating condition is attached to the carburetor main unit in such a manner that the main fuel nozzle opens to the intake air path. SOLUTION: On one side of an outer surface of the jet needle 22 and an inner surface of the main fuel nozzle 10, a diamond-like carbon layer 33 is formed. On the other side of the outer surface of the jet needle 22 and the inner surface of the main fuel nozzle 10, the hardening treatment including formation of the diamond-like carbon layer is applied.
