PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laundry washer/dryer with an excellent energy efficiency without discharging the latent heat energy or the temperature energy of air, to be released in dehumidifying humid air including moisture, together with cooling water. SOLUTION: The laundry washer/dryer comprises a clothes storage container 3 rotatably mounted inside a water tub 2 and a dryer device, and has a function of drying clothes stored inside the clothes storage container 3 with circulation air currents passing the above and a function of washing the clothes. The dryer device comprises a heat pump mechanism consisting of heat exchangers 7 and 8 and a compressor 9. The heat exchangers 7 and 8 and the compressor 9 are located higher than the uppermost part 10d of a washing water drain passage 10a for draining the moisture inside the clothes storage container, so that water is not consumed in dehumidifying the humid air including moisture. As a result, the energy efficiency is improved, and detergent components or stain components are not attached to the heat exchangers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
