EXPRESSION VECTOR FOR HUMAN ERYTHROPOIETIN(EPO) AND PROCESS FOR MASS-PRODUCING EPO USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An expression vector for human erythropoietin(EPO) and a process for mass-producing EPO using the same are provided, thereby mass-producing human erythropoietin(EPO) having the same or modified amino acid sequence as natural hEPO. CONSTITUTION: An expression vector for human erythropoietin(EPO) pThEPO contains thioredoxin(Trx) gene, protein decomposing enzyme recognition site, and human erythrocyte formation stimulating factor gene, sequentially, wherein the thioredoxin(Trx) gene has the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 7; the protein decomposing enzyme is factor Xa, thrombin or enterokinase; the human erythrocyte formation stimulating factor gene has the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1. Escherichia coli HM 11215 (KCCM-10391) is produced by transforming with the expression vector pThEPO. A process for mass-producing EPO comprises culturing the transformed E. coli HM 11215 (KCCM-10391).
